Description Christian Death has remained the prominent band of the Goth/Deathrock scene since it's conception in 1979, largely through the relentless energy of lead singer and founding member Rozz Williams. The band is seen here, in it's original line-up, live from

The original CD lives! for one night.... June 13, 2004 9 out of 11 found this review helpful
" Los Angles will burn to the ground..."With that sample the immortal Rozz Williams leads the ORIGINAL line-up of Christian Death who recorded the classic " Only Theatre of Pain " filled with with fog, wielding a cane to add to his already powerful, majestic, stage presence. Rikk Agenew's and Casey Chaos's of Amen [ sitting in for absent James McGerty } guitar and bass arrangements are nothing short of sensational; Agnew's beautifully chaotic, chorus laden cathing guitar lines swooping over Casy's melodic, driving, independent bass lines is sheer brillance! And George Bellenger's drumming is as solid and thunderous as ever, providing the idesipenible backbone to these magnificent songs. And of course Rozz Williams: master of ceromonies, his sleek graceful and haunting voice, sinister yet oepn and honest lyrics, and as stated befroe, stalks the stage { and the audience } with a dramtic downright fearsome stage prescence. To add to nearly all of OTOP being performed [ " Desperete hell ", " Burnt offerings " and " Parayer " are excluded } Two newer songs, the improved " Cry Baby " and " Some Men/The Other " appear here; scheduled to have been on an aborted second album recorded by this line-up { Rikk Agnew walks offstage after Resurrection and the band has to finish without a guitar player, Agnew's brother provided overdubed guitar for the CD and DVD; this was the reason Rozz and the rest of the band ultimatly decided against recording another album with this line-up }. Also the ORIGINAL version of " Sleepwalk " Rozz had wriiten for this line-up in '83{, and they recorded a studio version to be found on the Incovations CD}this version much better and tougher than the C. Ballet version. All in all this 1993 reunion is absoulute gem; pick it up right away! Kaenan James

The real christian death, playing real christian death songs. Rozz and crew light up the room. BUY THIS DVD!! You won't be sorry! Anything else I say would be redundant.

I cant believe it! A Christian Death DVD??? This must be a mistake? :) Cant wait! The VHS of this concert sold very well when it was reissued so I guess maybe this must be some kind of incentive. Excited! As far as I know this is a rozz concert not valor (I like em both the same!). I cant wait!
Quite Awesome! January 7, 1999 2 out of 3 found this review helpful
Great! A reunion concert with the original members of the band!! This is a nice video tape, with some interesting visuals (gotta love the intro song) and a great look into what it is like to be at a Christian Death concert. Even though the sound quality is good and the editing isn't bad, I find myself skipping parts of the tape just to get to my favorite parts. Over all, a good buy.
