Editorial Reviews:

Album Description
Seven Lives Many Faces is Enigma's seventh album. This album expands the sound catalogue of previous releases and it is expected to lead to a new Omni-Cultural wave. The lead single "Seven Lives" is a powerful fusion of modern and classical elements. Enigma is an Electronic musical project founded by Michael Cretu, David Fairstein and Frank Peterson in 1990. Cretu is both the composer and the producer; his former wife Sandra often provided vocals on Enigma tracks. Jens Gad co-produced and played guitar on three of the Enigma albums.17 tracks.

2 out of 5 stars Cretu's lost it...or he's just not trying anymore   October 19, 2008

I'll spare everyone an in-depth review and just simply say that this is, undoubtedly, Enigma's weakest album yet. Apart from a few decent songs (i.e. the title track) the album feels uninspired and boring. As a matter of fact, the album is too derivative of older releases; there's very, very little that's original here. And my biggest complaint is that Cretu doesn't truly develop the few good ideas he has! "De Ja Vu" sounds like a very promising track, but it dies away after a mere 3 minutes or so. Save your money - at least until Cretu gets it right again.

1 out of 5 stars As bad as Voyageur   October 3, 2008

After I heard this album is coming, I thought it would be as good as the first four Enigma albums I thought Enigma was back but like E5 and E6 there are just 1-2 good songs in it other song are just "boom boom" no melody, no "music" just some basses that's all.

In my opinion, there are just 2 good songs in Seven lives many faces: La puerta Del cielo and The same parents, others are just fillers there is nothing musical in them, no musical "textures" no atmosphere, nothing. I think even 8 years old ordinary kid can compose that kind of "boom boom" and empty music.

5 out of 5 stars Enigma at Their Best!   October 1, 2008

The two best songs are "Seven Lives" and "The Same Parents". The problem in the past with Enigma is that much of their music sounds the same. You will find many similarities but there is also more experimentation to this album. "Seven Lives" has a hip hop flavor to the beat which surprised me but it makes it a powerful number worth listening to.

3 out of 5 stars better than "Voyageur", not as good as "A Posteriori".   September 30, 2008

If you're an Enigma fan like me, you'll understand this perfectly: this album is better than "Voyageur" (Enigma's all-time low), and not quite as good as their last album "A Posteriori". In my opinion Enigma's best individual tracks are on it's first two albums. "Le Roi Est Morte..." and "Screen Behind the Mirror" were great albums as well. However, since then Enigma has been in decline. "Voyageur" was just plain awful. With "A Posteriori" and "Seven Lives", you can almost hear Cretu groping around for that style and substance he once had. Occasionally he locks in on it, and it's good to hear.

4 out of 5 stars Its Still Cretu!   October 1, 2008

A big-time fan of Enigma. A long awaited musical experience that only Cretu can deliver!!!!
