This necklace is pretty but the pre-Amazon-discount "price" is misleading with regard to the quality. I think a reasonable person would expect an allegedly +$150 sterline silver necklace to have a sterling silver clasp, or at least one of a comparable metal. The clasp of this necklace is made of silver-colored PLASTIC -- it won't really show when I wear it, but I assume after a few wearings, particularly on a hot day, that silver paint job is going to start flaking. The necklace itself -- the actual sterling silver part -- is pretty and representative of what is shown in the photo, and the vendor even puts it in a lovely little velveteen necklace box with a certificate of authenticity. Over the top for something that cheaply finished.
If you're looking for an attractive necklace at a moderate price (when discounted by Amazon), this necklace is adequate, but if you actually think you're getting a DEAL here on quality jewelry, be warned. I've purchased deeply discounted quality jewelry from Amazon before and been very pleased with what I received -- this is my first, and hopefully last, disappointment.

I ordered this necklace thinking that it was solid sterling silver it was not. It is some weird frosted metal, not like the picture.

This is beautiful. Just as pictured. I though it would be heavier, but as it turns out, it would be uncomfortable if it were thicker than it is; yet it looks quite substantial when worn. The best of both worlds. My 24 year old daughter loves it too.
