 Invicta Golf Umbrella - Nice Product with Some Annoying Features April 21, 2008

This is a great basic umbrella that is certainly better than a standard run of the mill umbrella. There are several things that will annoy some, but this is definitely nice to have in a pinch.
Like many others, I too got this umbrella via an Invicta watch promotion. In my particular case, I am much more fond of this umbrella than the watch I chose to go with it.
The bright yellow color is perhaps why they call this a golf umbrella, since it is so visible. I was somewhat surprised that the logos for Invicta were as large as they are. That probably would have stopped me had I bought it retail. Also, the radius of the umbrella could certainly have been bigger for golf, when you will generally have to hold this for two people at a time. For example this guy is listed at 40 inches wide, when for golf I can totally see the value of stepping up to the 62 inch GustBuster, which incidentally is only $40. The only real feature this is missing for a top of the line umbrella is some kind of air vent slit to allow wind to flow through. Still, this umbrell does stand up to some pretty stiff winds. I can attest to that after having used it for a year at this point.
Another nice thing about this umbrella is the handle, which is a very comfortable and well designed polymer type material. It has finger grips so it seems to easily fit in your hand. The button to release the umbrella is also big and durable, another plus.
If you are going to spend $50 on a golf umbrella, get one with a bigger radius and wind slits. If you can get this along with a watch you are going to buy anyway, this is a great backup umbrella for those that can live with the huge logos. This is probably more ideal for general daily use or as a backup than for golf.

I recieved this as a free item with their watch. $45 is not i would pay otherwise may be $7-10 at the local shop. Makes it feel like good deal when they add $45 value to a $119 watch.
I would say just make your decision based on the watch not Free Umbrella.

Getting this for free as part of the Invicta Watch purchase is well worth it. I would not pay or feel that the $45 price as advertised is anything but an advertisement for the Invicta watch. It probably has a value of approximately $10. Not bad for free with a watch purchase, but just another umbrella with advertising on it.

if you got this for free with a watch, it's a great deal. if you paid $45, well, you have a big, sturdy , yellow umbrella with the invicta logo all over it. if you don't like it, it would make a good gift for someone who doesnt mind a little product placement. it's not cheap-looking, and the shaped handle with ergonomic grip is a nice touch. i just wouldn't have paid $45 for it on its own. it's nice to have a big umbrella, though, all my other ones are super-cheap mini-compact ones. i'm hoping this stands up to the wind as well as keeps the rain off me. time will tell.

I received two of these free, as an Amazon promo when buying Invicta watches. Nice large and sturdy. For free it was a great deal! However, it is not worth $45. One of the reviewers said it was worth about $5 and I disagree with that completely. Another said it could be found for right at $20. At $20 it is a very good deal. But again, I would not pay $45 as is is just not worth it. So, wait until another promo or get it for $20.
