My favorite pair of pants. September 6, 2005 17 out of 18 found this review helpful
I can go out in them, stay in in them, take a nap in them, or take on the apocalypse in them. They (short smalls) fit perfectly, have soft cotton, and easy-access pockets. So far, they've taken a beating pretty well. Every weekend, when I have to decide between jeans and my cargo pants, the cargo pants win. Pockets. It's all about the pockets! Also, Captain Dave's was very good with my exchange of the mediums for smalls after I realized my diminutive size.

Fades just a little with first wash. Extremely baggy. Baggier than most other cargo pants.
Wrong pants or wrong buyer? February 6, 2008 11 out of 11 found this review helpful
These are odd sizes. For the right person these might be a nice pair of pants, but you are not the right person... are you? Since the size on this item is listed in sizes like Small, Medium, and Large instead of numerical units like inches, you may think to yourself "My clothes are always size [Medium, for example], so it'll probably fit me." You'd be very lucky if it does. Firstly, these are very oddly-sized pants. But even if they weren't, here's what you're betting on:
XS 27-28" S 29-31" M 32-34" L 36-38" XL 40-42" XXL 44-48" XXXL 50-52" Keep in mind that this chart isn't tailored for this brand (strike one), is just an estimate (strike two), and it's only the waist (strike three). Length adds another layer of possible error to the problem. The main point here is that there are 2 or 3 numeric sizes within each size like "Small" or "Medium". The odds that you'll get a pair of pants that fit you well out of guesswork like this are not good odds. Listen, guys, sizing like this may work for gloves and dresses, but not pants.
This size Small that I got might fit someone who is 5'10" and 130 lbs, I'd guess. If I were to get a medium then I suppose it would fit my waist better, but the small Small is already too long for me... and I'm not short!
Who would the Medium fit then? Maybe someone 145 lbs and 6 feet tall? That's crazy. Maybe it's just the size small that's oddly tall for it's waist, but do you want to bet your money on that?
Tip: When ordering an item in this price range that doesn't have a numeric size, check a seller's profile to see about their returns policy. Many unscrupulous sellers will have a $10 restocking fee and intentionally not list numeric sizes of odd-shaped clothing in this price range, even though the invoice and/or the item's tag has the size on it (so they could have specified the numeric size easily). They do this in the hopes that you will buy the item figuring that it will probably fit and that you can return it if it doesn't, but then when you go to return it you do the math and blame yourself and don't return it or even leave bad feedback/complain.
Here's the math: shipping on you sending it back to them + shipping on them sending a replacement to you + $10 for restocking = costs about as much or more than a new pair of pants!
Just right! July 6, 2005 10 out of 11 found this review helpful
These BDU pants were just right. Comfy, useful, and strong. Love the color, too.
Love,Love,Love these pants!! September 26, 2005 9 out of 9 found this review helpful
I had searched high and low for camo pants that fit well and were already broken in.One would think this an easy task especially since I live in the epicenter of the fashion industry(Manhattan,NYC).Well, to no avail even on the internet that is,until I found "Captain Dave's". I ordered them thinking they would have to be altered at least in the length and that I would have to wash them a few thousand times to achieve the well worn-in look that I wanted.Well, they arrived very quickly and packed extremely well and I was pleasantly surprised that they fit like a glove and the texture has the subtle "worn" quality that is so fashionable at the moment! Thank you Captain Dave's!!! I'll be purchasing a lot more items!! And ladies, don't be hesitant about ordering the men's sizes they fit fabulously!!
