A metaphor for the political system?? October 1, 2008 39 out of 44 found this review helpful
I love it. Choose one, choose the other... at the end of the day it doesn't matter because you're getting the exact same packaged product (i.e. they're both Donut Shop Blend).
A well blended, refreshing coffee for the none single minded educated taste buds! October 7, 2008 22 out of 35 found this review helpful
What a wonderful way to show support for your choice of President. Five stars for marketing. Obama, blend far superior with a true welcoming taste that makes you feel refreshed and renewed from morning until night. Definite notes of Kenyan, American, Indonesian and Kona (Hawaiian) beans, roasted by some of the finest open and progressive craftsmen of the Midwest. The Obama blend is a true world winner and hands down winner in France, Germany, England and everywhere else where an honest coffee is desired. McCain's has the tin can staleness of off market military issue: sun burnt, stale, left over beans that seem to alway argue with your digestive tract. The bad taste may linger for years to come, but will most likely fade away after a month or two. The blends is pushed by one particular false media market as a refined choice, attempting to pawn it off as a high quality Columbian, when in fact its swampy sill water Panamanian is clear picked up. Other beans are a true unknown, one would think it was juniper berries instead of coffee beans.. and an reaffirm an overwhelming poorly planned out selection. Overall, this is nothing more than beans from the last few years repackaged in an old container, with some bright lipstick-ish colors on the outside. All puns aside the coffee if great Five stars.
Try the McCain blend instead October 5, 2008 18 out of 78 found this review helpful
This coffee is substantively a pretty weak brew, but has strong notes of inexperience and personality cult. I suggest keeping it around in the cupboard for about 8-12 years, after which it will probably taste better, but may have fallen out of style.
The packaging does not disclose that the blend was sourced entirely from liberal beans; my opinion is that if this were properly disclosed, it would significantly affect sales.
Vote for the coffee of your choice -- but vote! October 7, 2008 15 out of 28 found this review helpful
Definitely darker and more robust than the McCain blend, which smacks of moose droppings. Great for folks who want change.
Great coffee for mainstreet; not a favorite in the current White House October 15, 2008 13 out of 15 found this review helpful
This coffee reminds one of the good times experienced in the 90s when the national debt was going down and incomes were going up for the middle class. Coffee tasted good then and families could afford to spend a little extra for a treat at the donut shop. It's not the trickle down blend that only the rich can afford, like the one served in the White House today. Fresh and soothing, this is the coffee I want to drink for a long time.
On a realistic note - this really is a good coffee and it is priced right. Both this version and the McCain version are the same blend with a fun box that's guaranteed to stimulate conversation. To really know how people feel about this coffee check out Coffee People K-Cup Extra Bold Donut Shop Coffee, 25-Count Boxes (Pack of 2)
