Zeal goggles January 25, 2008 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
I like the goggles overall. The photochromic lenses work as advertised. The only downside to these goggles is that the strap does not come apart in the middle and the area where the strap adjusts sits right under the part of my ski helmet that snaps down to hold the strap in place. It's too bulky to snap the helmet strap holder in place. Other than that, they are comfortable and work well.
Good goggles, but not a panacea February 28, 2008 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
I just finished up several days of skiing in Colorado in cool to cold weather (temps mostly in the 20s). Conditions varied from full sun to cloudy with heavy snow. Terrain included trees, groomers, open bowls, etc.
The photochromaticity definitely helps. I never felt like I had the wrong lens for the light conditions. The polarization didn't seem to make much difference, and it certainly didn't alleviate "flat light", much to my disappointment.
The goggles breathe quite well, to that point that in very cold weather they might breathe too much and make your face cold. They'd be OK for anything above the 10 degrees, I'd say. On the upside, they fogged very little and unfogged quickly when skiing.
Size-wise, I'm used to smaller goggles, but for any man with an average sized or larger face, they're OK. The strap has nice rubberized strips to keep it in place.
Overall very good, just not sure they're worth the price premium over other quality goggles.
