Great Shoe... July 29, 2008 13 out of 13 found this review helpful
Bought this shoe and the Mizuno Wave Creation 9 at the same time. This shoe was far superior in fit and function for me and was an upgrade from Gel Nimbus 9:
* Fits like a slipper (vs. oversize fit of Mizuno) * Balanced and plush cushion system from heel to toe * Consistent sizing with prior Asics models (Mizuno needs to be 1/2 size larger) * Designed for medium to high arches - good comfort in upper shoe area * Excellent no slip lacing * Material/ventilation permits good shoe breathability * Light weight at 12.4 oz (vs. 13+ oz for Mizuno) * Ran on road, track and trail and felt that shoe performed on all terrains
My Best Shoe Yet!!! (for big guys) July 18, 2008 10 out of 10 found this review helpful
Well. after much reasearch and consideration I finally decided to go with the Asics Gel Nimbus. I have to say, I was very, very pleased with this purchase. Here's why... I started exercising and running at 259Lbs...yes, I'm a, or should I say "was" a much bigger man. I used Nike's for years and was relatively happy with them, however, with the extra weight I found that days after I would have terrible shin splints, so, like many of us, I found out that it could be a range of things, at the end of the day, trial and error, it was mu shoes and they did not have enough support and cushioning for my excess "junk".
The Nimbus have everything that I needed, as I put them on, I could tell the difference, the support was fantastic, the shoe fit like a glove all around the foot and it gives you a little extra bounce. So, I went running! now 3 weeks later, the shin splints are almost gone and I have improved my time around the Savannah (I live in Trinidad - 3.52km or 2.18 miles around)tremendously. The shoe is comfortable and I did not find you had any "breaking in" to do like some shoes.
Any person, heavy or not or those who have heavy feet would do well to get a pair of these, it's like walking on clouds (no pun intended) They also have a wide pronation range so can suit many types of runners from unders to overs.
I hope this review helps you make a decision. You can't go wrong with these.

One of the best shoes I have ever wore. Although Nimbus 9 were slightly better!!
Good Not Great October 6, 2008 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
I've used the lower line Asics shoes (2120) I think is the model number. For the money, this shoe is a bit of a letdown. They are comfortable but they rub just a bit in the toe for me. I hope that they break in a bit better with more extended use. I run about 20 miles a week. I have noticed I don't have the same fatigue that I had in my joints from my last pair of shoes (2120's) but it might have been that my 2120's were worn completely out. I think a new pair of 2120's would have been just as good as this pair.
All running shoes break down over time. Next time I'll stick with my 2120's and save a few dollars.
Superb and true to adverts shoes November 24, 2008 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
I had always hard feelings while jogging in my toes and knees. I was looking for a solution. Changing track and adding pads in shoes did not work. While searching for a solution I saw ASICS ad. I order the shoes to try if it works. To my surprise, I was running on the clouds. It worked and it worked very well. Just note while ordering online, check your size carefully as this shoe is physical depiction of the words in ads which mention about the size.
