 Nice, but a little too small and lacking in features July 19, 2008

The size of this bag is 10" x 11". It zips across the top. It has one zip pocket and one slip pocket on one side of the exterior, and two very small slip pockets on the inside. The exterior slip pocket is right behind the zip pocket, so one can hide an mp3 player in the zip pocket, and thread the headphone cord through a concealed button hole through the slip pocket. This bag doesn't have an interior zip pocket.
If you're accustomed to carrying very much, you won't be able to do that with this bag. I can fit one fairly large paddle-style hairbrush, one small wallet, one eyeglass case, and very little else in the main body of the bag. The 11" measurement is the height of this bag. The 10" width really hampers its usefulness. It also would be greatly improved just by adding a piece of fabric to form a base (which most purses have) so the bag could hold more. The materials seem to be of very good quality, and it is machine-washable, which is a plus. Another plus is the very long, adjustable crossbody strap - excellent for shopping trips and sightseeing, because it frees your hands and makes the bag somewhat more thief-resistant than a regular bag. Just don't expect to carry much in this bag.
The "Botanica" print bag I bought was made in USA, but another one I bought as a gift in the "Windsor Navy" pattern, was made in China.

I bought this bag in Cambridge print. I LOVE it! It's a lot lighter than many other hipsters and I feel as though I can fit a lot in it. If you feel as though you need more room, wait for the newer version of this bag which is coming out now. I saw one today, but still love the older version more. Love the little pocket in front to stash stuff in!
 Nice purse but not as big as the tote August 6, 2008
It could be a little bit roomier, that's why I didn't give 5 stars. Compared with the button tote, the measurements seemed as though they would be comparable in size but there is much more room in the tote. I like the adjustable strap on the hipster - I was able to easily get my preferred length which is a big plus.
I ordered the Kensington print which is nice for Fall, and have to admit I'm not thrilled with the Fall '08 patterns. I find myself trying to track down some of the "vintage" prints in a new bag if I can because there are so many VB designs retired that I just adore. I'm glad I got this one at the Amazon sale price.
Perfect Bag for Shopping August 19, 2008
I have the Vera Bradley Hipster in (3) patterns because I have found it to be the perfect bag when I go grocery shopping or mall shopping. Not too big, but it fits across & hugs the body. Long shoulder strap and lots of compartments for cell phone, coupons, pens & wallet. 5 STARS
GREAT PURSE FOR MOMS WITH BABIES September 2, 2008
I ABSOLUTELY LOVE THIS BAG. I can not find it's duplicate anywhere- believe me I have tried. I have a little one and the hipster bag helps me to get in and out of stores quickly and allows me to complete my shopping with baby in arms, if need be. It's comfortable - the soft strap does not cut into my neck and stylish and best of all sturdy. My five year old hangs on in the stores. This is a great price- as in a local shop they are retailing for about 50. I am able to hold all my mommy essentials too - a snack for the little one, picture wallet,pen, comb, phone, datebook and wallet all inside this purse! Buy it for the mom on your list! :)
