5 out of 5 stars Works wonders   March 30, 2007

I have been using Baby Bliss' Gripe Water for 5 years now. It is the best for tummy aches, gas, hiccups, colic, teething... I even use it myself when I feel really bloated. My children love it. Now that my oldest is five she always askes for it when she is alittle backed up and is having gas pains. My second daughter had reflux really bad and this definatly helped get rid of excess gas and it also soothed her tummy if she ate something too spicy.

The price here is great. I'm ordering a bunch, because sometimes its hard to find in the health food stores... it seems hard for them to keep it in stock too. Its very popular.

FYI... I'm alway leary about giving my kids any type of medicine. I always gave them 1/2 the dose to see it that worked first. It usualy did. Also I waited till they were about 3 months to give them any medicine that the doc didn't perscribe. You have to remember just because something is natural or organic doen't mean its necessarily safe... it still is medicine.

Gripe water has been a miracle for me and everyone I have introduced it to. As most people know, many babies suffer from colic, which is an awful thing for babies to go through, and for some reason seems to be most prominent among boys. My son, who is now six months old, had horrible colic and we were going through so much Mylicon that I told my husband we should buy stock in it. Nothing was working! Then my father-in-law, who is from Pakistan, mentioned that he used to give gripewater to my husband when he was a baby. Ever since we got the gripewater, my son has made a complete 180 degree turn. He went from being up all day and most of the night to sleeping all the way through the night and having a very pleasant disposition. And it's not just good for colic, it has also made teething for my son a lot more bearable, and he has not been nearly as irritable as I have seen most children going through the teething process. I strongly suggest that you try it! But consult your pediatrician first, of course.

Thank goodness someone told me about the GripeWater. I would definately recommend to others. We used a medicine pacifier to give it to our little one not the syringe. She loved the taste and sucked it right down. Not only did it help with her colic but also her hicups.

5 out of 5 stars A natural cure that works!   May 4, 2007

Our baby had frequent bouts of colic, gas, and hiccups during the first three months. The doctor prescribed Mylicon gas drops- which have sodium benzoate as preservative. This preservative breaks down into toxic benzene in presence of acid, so I did not want to give it to our baby. (if your baby is on any supplements- make sure you check for the presence of this preservative)

Gripe water worked great to cut down on the crying. She still had some gas and hiccups, but it did not bother her as much. Baby's Bliss works as well as the Wellements organic gripe water. I bought both to compare and would fully recommend either to anyone who wants a natural cure for colic.

One thing to be aware of- do not give your child too much gripe water in a short span or she will cry even more. We found every six hours did the trick. Eventually it became once a day. Now at 5 months, we hardly need it anymore.

1 out of 5 stars It didn't work for us   August 11, 2007

I purchased this product for my grandson, but unfortunately it didn't help him. My daughter read about Colic Calm (which does not contain some of the ingredients found in Baby Bliss), and desperate for something that would relieve his pain, we ordered it. Colic Calm has worked amazingly. My grandson still has gas, but the pain is gone! The following is what we read about Colic Calm:
Completely free of alcohol, sugar, simethicone, sodium bicarbonate (baking soda), herbal oils and extracts, citric acid, wheat, gluten, soy, dairy, artificial ingredients and animal products.
To be fair, it could be that my grandson is allergic to an ingredient in Baby Bliss Gripe Water (he cannot tolerate dairy at all). I ordered this product because it worked so well for those who wrote reviews, but it wasn't right for us.
