The adidas Italia was first introduced in 1959 as a all-around indoor shoe for athletes, coaches and instructors; it was the most-worn shoe at the 1960 Olympic Games in Rome. This update, the adidas Italia '74, features a full-leather upper with a suede toe bumper, EVA midsole and a blown rubber outsole.

Amazon.com Product Description
Liven up your sporty look with the Italia 74. Brought to you by the genius that is adidas, this lace-up is a modern update of the indoor athletic shoe used in the 1960 Olympic Games in Rome. Va bene! An EVA midsole delivers enviable shock absorption, while the full leather upper and suede toe bumper provide flexible support and ample foot protection. 5 out of 5 stars Great Item   December 27, 2006

So glad I went ahead and ordered this before Christmas. My boyfriend loves them, and they got to my house two days later, even thoughit could have taken until Jan. 10th. I knew I could wait to give the present and save money, but fortunately I didn't even have to. Super light, comfortable, and look great with jeans

3 out of 5 stars The shoes are not as good as expected.   January 14, 2007

I bought the shoes for my husband. He says, "The shoes are not comfortable. I like the colors and they look good but they are not comfortable at all. I will probably never buy this type again."

5 out of 5 stars Perfect Fit!   December 28, 2006

These shoes are awesome! They fit a little tight, but not to the point of being uncomfortable. They're also pretty fashionable. I would definitely recommend these for anyone, men and women. It was a great purchase. Free shipping is also included so if you are intrested I would tell you to go for it!

4 out of 5 stars Just like the ones I had in 1970   April 10, 2007

As I approach 50, I find myself in retro mode. I sought out the adidas I loved in grade school and found them. Having purchased the blue (Rom's) I found them to look every bit like the orignals. I got many flattering comments. However, you get what you pay for; these are not the most high quality shoe. They are one size too tight. If you buy one size larger you'll be fine, but wear them sparingly for looks, not performance. I'm going to buy a second pair, but this time a size larger.

4 out of 5 stars comfortable shoe mainly for walking   March 9, 2007
I like the design simplicity of this shoe but don't use it for jogging or running as you will feel uncomfortable. I guess it is made for walking.
