I used to use antibacterial hand sanitizer with baby wipes to clean tables (what a pain) until I saw somebody using a table topper. I went right over to ask about them. Now, I can't imagine going anywhere without them. These table toppers have brought peace of mind to me; I know longer worry what is/was on the surface of the tables. They are sanitary and very portable. A nice side benefit: the Elmo design is educatonal - my daughter picked up on the ABC, 123 just like that! The only "challenge" with these mats are that they may not stick to all surfaces. If the table is textured or has some sort of film (ie: filth) on it, the adhesive may not stick. Usually, it is the dirty table's fault; not the mat.
TIP: When sticking to table, do not remove the adhesive tape on both ends. Start with the bottom tape and stick to the side of the table or even just under the edge then wrap it around to the top. (This is for sanitary reasons - there is just as much "gunk" or more on the edges and under the tabletop.)
Also: Pull it just tight enough to remove any wrinkles before sticking it to the table. Any looseness may invite the infant/toddler to tear it off!

These things are great.
There are two strips of sticky stuff that holds these place mats down to the table. They are sticky enough that it takes some time to work the place mat off of the table if your child tries. Yet they do not ruin any furniture.
The mats are very useful for a variety of purposes and places. We have used ours to protect our table when painting. WE use them all the time when we are eating out. THis is very good for the young finger feeding child. You can put small bits of food right in front of him and not worry about a plate getting broken because the child threw it on the floor. When you are through eating, you simply roll this up and throw it away. Mess is gone.
Excellent. Useful. I carry them in my purse at all times.
Well worth every penny.

I purchased these mats for my 12 month old son because I'm a germophobe & these sounded like a great idea for eating out. However, they barely stick to any surface we've tried. My son gets so excited with the bright colors, he rips them off in 1 second flat. And forget trying to re-stick them to the table. I emailed Neat Solutions who makes them, suggesting they use stronger adhesive, put it around all 4 sides, & take the adhesive to the edges so that little fingers can't get under them & yank them up. Their response to me was to make sure I laid the mat flat & pressed on the adhesive! (Duh, no kidding!) They also said that "even though others have suggested the same thing, that it isn't cost-effective for them to use stronger or more adhesive at this time"!! Since they have no intention of improving this product, I have no intention of ever purchasing it again or recommending it.

Table Toppers have got to be one of the best inventions ever! They come in an easily portable ziplock pouch, they take up very little room in a diaper bag, they adhere very well to the table and they ensure that your little one has a safe and sanitary place to eat from. My 10-month old feels like a big girl sitting at the table when we go out to eat and I feel comfortable giving her finger foods on her Table Topper. She also loves to point to the pictures of her favorite Sesame Street characters. These are a must have for any family who dines out with a little one.

This product was great when my daughter was between 6 months and 12 months old. But now that she's 13 months, she would rather pull the topper up and play with it. My husband keeps one hand one side of it and I keep my hand on the other side of it while we're eating - otherwise she pulls them off (sometimes she still manages to do so). I agree with other comments that it would be better if the sticky stuff were on all four sides, not just the top and the bottom. I have found that at this point, the topper is useless for us.
