A Great Big Canvas Bag March 2, 2008 58 out of 60 found this review helpful
I bought this bag to hold my equipment, notebooks, thermos and other gear while clomping through an oil refinery. After a week of use, I think it will serve well. This is not your choice in bags if you want something to contain your laptop; they're making them too thin for the support offered by this bag.
Positives: * Long, adjustable strap; * Pockets are pretty deep, except side (see negatives); * Big, deep bag; and * Zipper pocket inside bag, small but useful for pens and such.
Negatives: * Canvas strap should be thicker with two stiches on either side, running the length, to avoid braying; * Flap: velcro bar runs horizontally but there are only two small bars on the opposite side (the bag) --- these are not strong; and * Side pockets --- too narrow but buttons are nice.
I plan to replace the velcro flap with a button clapse if the strap holds up for a month of abuse.
After 5 months of service I washed the bag in cold water. It faded a little as expected but did not shrink. Some were was noted in the bottom where a small hole developed. The bag is still useful. I did not add a button because there was no time.
If this review was helpful, please add your vote. I do this on side for free as a public service --thanks for your support.
One time Jack Bauer forgot where he left his messenger bag. October 19, 2006 56 out of 80 found this review helpful

The Jack Sack... for all your counter-terror needs... May 30, 2007 23 out of 26 found this review helpful
I ordered this bag, and it came very quickly in great condition. For a "man purse" it's rather tough looking, and I like how it comes off. You could use this to carry anything, even a laptop (though there is no padding for that). It's a simple green canvas bag with one big main compartment, and five smaller ones around it (one inside has a zipper). The strap is a basic one without any padding. If you like everything simple, no labels anywhere - this is the one. Put the "theme to 24" on your iPod, and pretend you're Jack Bauer trekking through the city.
The Jack Sack! January 31, 2007 17 out of 22 found this review helpful
If you're a fan of "24" and Jack Bauer, this bag is a must have. Not only is it extremely well-priced, it is durable and surprisingly roomy inside. The side pockets are useful and the material is thick and well-made.
As a lark, I googled the words "jack sack" and found soem pretty funny articles online. Try it out and see what kind of subculture you're touching upon when purchasing this item!
Poor quality bag dumped on Amazon February 29, 2008 15 out of 18 found this review helpful
I'll just let my exchange with the vendor speak for itself.
--- Me:
I am disappointed with the quality of the messenger bag I purchased in this order. The bottom seam is not fully sewn, and as a result there is a hole in the bottom of the bag. Also, the second day I used it, one of the metal flap snaps ripped out of the fabric.
The reviews of this bag cited quality of manufacture. If that's so, is this just a one-off problem? If I request a replacement, will it be any better? Or, if this is true of all the bags, am I wasting my time requesting a replacement? I'm not looking for something to last a lifetime, but I did expect better quality and am willing to pay more for it if necessary.
Thank you.
--- Galaxy Army-Navy response:
We have better quality bags on our site [...] but they are more expensive as they are made with better quality cotton canvas. We also have US made products which are better quality.
--- Translation: The bag we sell here on Amazon is a cheap, lesser quality, foreign manufactured bag made with poor quality cotton canvas.
I didn't say it -- they did.
