With built-in adjustable speakers, the HoMedics iCush-100 is a great way to relax at the office. |
This massager allows you to "feel" all the action of your favorite video games with the Audio Sync function. |
Sit down, plug in, and massage away sore muscles as you listen to music or watch movies. | For gamers, this experience comes alive as turns, crashes, fights, and explosions vibrate muscles in sync with sound, enabling them to feel at one with the game. Sit down, plug in, and get ready to massage away sore muscles as you listen to music, watch movies, and play your favorite video games. Just plug your iPod or MP3 player right into the iCush, or use the included adapter to connect the massager directly to your TV, Xbox, PlayStation, or similar gaming console. No matter how you link up, the iCush puts you right in the middle of the action. This massager even features built-in dual speakers, so you don't have to wear headphones or rely on your home entertainment system alone. And forget about simply seeing and hearing, now you can feel all your favorite multimedia entertainment in the form of relaxing massage. Games really come to life as the dual, adjustable aluminum cone speakers surround you with sound. Use it with your TV, and watching sports and movies will never be the same. iCush works great with music, too. Whether it's pop, rock, hip hop, or anything else, just turn it on and get ready for an entirely new listening experience. You'll feel every explosion, experience every tackle, and sense every beat of your favorite tunes. Just push the Audio Sync button on the wired remote, and vibes pulse to the rhythms of the sounds. iCush features three preset programs -- all motors, up and down, or random -- so you can choose how the vibes move when you just want to get the benefits of a solid, relaxing massage. And when you're ready for excitement, just link Audio Sync to the programs for an even wilder ride. The seat also features adjustable intensity, speed, personalized body zones, and volume control. You can even choose audio synched to massage vibes, audio only, massage vibes only, or audio and massage settings. No matter what you desire, the power to customize your entertainment and relaxation rests in your hands. And since the seat is portable, you can take the iCush with you no matter where you wander. The built-in carry handle and storage pouches make transport simple, so you can easily take your iCush to a friend's house and share the Audio Sync experience. What's in the Box iCush-100 immersive audio sync massage seat, wired electronic controller, 15-inch wired audio input cord with headphone jack, 80-inch audio input extension cord with volume control, 42-inch RCA extension/connection cord, male-to-male coupler, AC home power adaptor, and instruction manual.

Come on, get haptic... July 27, 2006 23 out of 25 found this review helpful
Cool product; very easy to hook up and get started. Good for relaxing or zoning out with an iPod, but way cooler for gaming. It's like a Rumble Pak for your whole body... crashing into stuff on Project Gotham, feeling the crunch of the tackle on Madden, feeling the shots peal off on Call of Duty, etc. If you're like me and don't read instructions, please note that you have to push the "Audio Sync" button to switch it from regular massage mode to syncing with the sound. The speakers, being behind you, really make you feel like you're in the middle of it as well. You can flip them up and around and pivot them a bit to get them in the best position for your height, and they sound surprisingly good for their size. I recommend reducing the game's background music and turning up the sound effects...
A gimmick January 31, 2007 20 out of 24 found this review helpful
I tried this in a store once and was really unimpressed. Vibration is not my idea of massage. The speakers were poor in my opinion. Some people may find the game vibrating feature to be cool, but if you're looking for a massager, look into one of HoMedics other massager cushions with motorized balls such as the SMB-200, SMB-300, or QRM-400. They're more expensive, but they're easily worth the difference if you want something to relax you. And for audio, get some good ear buds, headphones, or a real audio system that can really immerse you in sound.
Dissappointing for music November 17, 2006 15 out of 21 found this review helpful
I had experienced a similar product overseas (though the vibration was built into a recliner), and was hoping this would be up to that standard. When I had used that product, I found myself transported. Anyone who has played in a band, or I guess been really close to the stage, has felt the bass shoot through them. The chair i tried before reproduced this feeling, in addition to being really comfortable and relaxing. The HoMedics seat cover is comfortable but there were 2 serious problems, one unique to this individual product and one major one:
1) one of the speakers was blown, so it produced a hissing which was annoying. this leads me to question overall quality control.
2)much more important, it was very difficult to distinguish what the chair was vibrating in response to. For example, listening to music that starts quiet before the band comes in, the chair would not vibrate at all. Then, when the music was loud, there would be pulsing, but there seemed to be hardly any correspondence to the beat of the song. Solo piano recordings (Keith Jarrett) revealed a constant humming of the vibrating chair, again, no distinguishable beat, with the added annoyance that the music was somwhat drowned out by the humming of the chair.
overall, the seat cover is comfortable and the low-volume sound is good without the vibration. But the reason I bought the product was the sync between vibration and sound, and this was a completely useless. I am returning it because of the blown speaker, but won't be requesting replacement.
Great for X-Box July 28, 2006 12 out of 13 found this review helpful
The only complaint I have about this is that I wish I didn't have to deal with the cord getting caught in the wheels of the office chair I sit in when playing my X-Box. Otherwise it is excellent. Really enhances the gaming experience anywhere where the vibrating controller is a plus. I highly reccommend for sports, war and driving games. Puts you in the middle of the action. I am not a big I-pod user so I have only tried it with my wifes a couple of times. It works and I think would be pretty cool for just sitting in the chair and zoning out to music but the fact that you normally use your I-pod on the go makes me think the gaming link is the biggest reason to buy.
Way better than expected. October 30, 2006 12 out of 15 found this review helpful
I bought this for my boyfriend, a major gamer, for his birthday. He was totally excited to open it and can't stop thanking me for it. He's only had it for a few days, but he has used it quite a bit.
My first concern was the speaker quality. He says the speakers work really well and was surprised about that since they arn't very big speakers. You can move the speakers around, they go up and down as well as twist a litle to face inward or outward.
The audio sync also works better than I expected. It's not that exciting if you're just watching a show on television, but it's great with video games (We played Lego Star Wars and it vibrated and massaged to the theme song), and I'm sure it would be fun with action movies or games like Halo. It also works well with different types of music. A great way to unwind from a long day would be to sit in it and listen to some Classical music.
Not only does it have the audio sync, but you can also use it as a normal massage chair and it's got 3 speeds, 3 levels of strength, and 3 modes (which sections vibrate at once). The wiring is easy to figure out- even I was able to get it hooked up to test it pretty quickly. You can also control the volume through a little dial on the cord. It even has a little pocket attached to put the remote in while you are using it.
As for downsides. I can't think of any. I think the only issue is that the cord might be too short depending on where you want to use it. It's fine for using in front of the television, but if I wanted to hook it up to the radio, and use it while I was on the computer on the other side of the room, it wouldn't reach. I'm sure you can buy an extension for it if needed.
Overall, I think it's a great product and a wonderful buy. I finally found something to get him that he doesn't already have. Ladies, if your man loves video games but you're not sure which game to buy him or you want to get him something other than a game, this is it! I'm pretty tight about spending money on things like this, but this was worth every penny.
