Great stuff October 1, 2008 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
The Basic Instructions comic strips have been my best discovery since the genius of Scott Adams/Dilbert. Scott Meyer provides a range of cartoons to help with a range of everyday situations from "How to disguise a yawn" to "How to lie to a child" - they work because of the self-deprecating humour and because they are so accurate. Really good stuff and Meyer has a website (Basic Instructions) so it is easy to check out and see if you like his humour before you consider buying this, but you should because it is very good indeed.
How to write a book review... October 21, 2008 Writing a book review can be a very traumatic experience. Luckily for all involved, Scott Meyer is here to guide us through most of life's ordeals, both pleasant and otherwise. From "How to Scare Little Children" to "How to Drastically Change Your Appearance" to "How to Deal With Visions" Meyer's delivers the goods with both the correct amount of wit and sass. And if reading this review inspires you to visit your local shop keep to purchase this book, don't bother! You can purchase said tome right here from Amazon! How's that for service?
Hilarious, original, and a big weird looking bald guy, who could or would ask for anything more?
And remember, hold the RJ-17 form firmly!
A Five Chortle Book! October 30, 2008 I chortled, guffawed, and laughed out loud while reading this book. Very clever and amusing while addressing many of the problems we face here in the 21st Century. Such as How To Tell Your Spouse About Your Day and How To Face Life As A Morning Person. My personal favorite is the footnote to How To Write A Haiku. By the way Scott, it's spelled "ninety."
All in all, a book that you'll want in your humor library. And don't forget to check out the Basic Instructions web page!
