Product Description Crowley's views on prohibition are certainly entertaining though it is suspected very few readers were amused at the time. Very jocular piece and informative about the drug's use in New York during the period after World War I.

The debate continues on whether or not to legalize the recreational use of drugs in America. Cocaine used to be a rich man's drug- it costs about 100 dollars an eight ball, or about the size of a bag of weed's eigth. Crowley certainly did experiment with drugs, but they only added to his charisma, becoming a focal point as to whether people can also be brainwashed or otherwise taken advantage of with the use of drugs. Cocaine is usually snorted through the nose, often with a rolled dollar bill. Now just to theorize this issue- is taking drugs on a level with using tobacco? In old colonial days the use of tobacco was so potent it could cause the "high" effect in what are known as illegal narcotics in America today. Drugs today are a lot more potent than they were during their popularity in the 1960s and 70s. I would say to legalize because of the musical chairs of the prison system- in goes the non violent drug offender and out goes the rapist, murderer or child molester. This pamplet by Crowley is further evidence of his depravity, suckering in troubled youths and with the drugs further uninhibiting the individual, they become a mess. Unless you want to run the risk of being "popular" with drug dealers or maybe local or national bands, I wouldn't recommend drugs other than for the occasional relaxation or meditation the "high" effect might cause.
