Product Description
The names change, but the game remains the same.

The pimp has reached nearly mythical status. We are fascinated by the question of how a guy from the ghetto with no startup capital and no credit -- nothing but the words out of his mouth -- comes not only to have a stable of sexy women who consider him "their man," but to drive a Rolls, sport diamonds, and wear custom suits and alligator shoes from Italy.

His secret is to follow the "unwritten rules of the game" -- a set of regulations handed down orally from older, wiser macks -- which give him superhuman powers of charm, psychological manipulation, and persuasion.

In Pimpology, star of the documentaries Pimps Up, Ho's Down and American Pimp and Annual Players Ball Mack of the Year winner Ken Ivy pulls a square's coat on the unwritten rules that took him from the ghetto streets to the executive suites. Ken's lessons will serve any person in any interaction: Whether at work, in relationships, or among friends, somebody's got to be on top. To be the one with the upper hand, you've got to have good game, and good game starts with knowing the rules.

If you want the money, power, and respect you dream of, you can't just "pimp your ride," you need to pimp your whole life. And unless you've seen Ray Charles leading Stevie Wonder somewhere, you need Ken's guidelines to do it. They'll reach out and touch you like AT&T and bring good things to life like GE. Then you can be the boss with the hot sauce who gets it all like Monty Hall.

5 out of 5 stars 100% Real   July 21, 2007

I've had this book for roughly 20 hours now and I love it. Pimpin Ken is THE MAN. When I first saw this book, I kinda laughed because it was in the Self-Help section of the book store. But I had to open it just b/c it looked so cool. Figured it was comedy but man was I wrong. He's a serious guy (although he's not afraid to be funny). His wisdom is priceless and thorough. He leaves nothing uncovered. Even if you don't plan on traditional street Pimpin, wouldn't you like to Up your game at whatever game it is that you play? If so, PK is coach you always wished you had. This book is just soo good it couldn't be any better.

As as aside..

I remember the first time I heard "Let a ho be a ho" by the Geto Boys. While probably not the intent, I remembered thinking "Everything you need to know about work, dealing with people and just life in general - AND WINNING - is in that song" This was back in the old days of the Geto Boys when every word they had to say was powerful. They grew up in different parts of the country, but Buswick,Scarface, Willie D and

1 out of 5 stars Disturbing   August 22, 2007

While I have not finished this book, I find it disturbing and disgusting on a deep level. Although pimps, through events like 'Player's Balls', have recently become romanticized in our society, it does not change the fact that these men use, manipulate and abuse women both physically and psychologically. Even worse, they target the women who are most vulnerable for exploitation. As such, it is unthinkable to me that a book has been written and published and marketed that makes the behaviors of manipulation and crime seem acceptable. Furthermore, it is deeply disquieting that people find the lessons of being a pimp helpful without remembering that the man who wrote the book made his living through the exploitation of humans for personal gain. I cannot assert that he had no right to produce this 'guide', however I do not think it speaks well of our society that some people accept this book and it's lessons as a way to guide anyones business and personal life. Thus, as Pimpin' Ken had the right to produce it, i would suggest that no one buy this book, as in a small way its purchase can be seen as helping to legitimize a lifestyle that is unacceptable, both legally and ethically, in modern America.

This book shows how the pimp game is a metaphor for life. Either you're giving orders or you're taking them. Good book.

5 out of 5 stars Great Quick Read   October 18, 2007

Great book. Pimpolgy 101, does not promote pimping, just the pimp Mentality. It gives readers rules, and then accounts of those rules that Pimp Ken has gone though in his life, and the lessons learn. It is a great book on how to seize the moment in life, and become a "Go Getta." Only con i have is it is a quick read, But every interesting. i read the whole book in about two days. I recommend any business minded person to pick up this book.

5 out of 5 stars Interesting and Inspirational   July 24, 2007

This book has all of the elements that make a great book. Its rare that Ive read a book in its entirety in the same day. The author has a way of bringing certain events to life to keep the reader interested. I like the fact that the 48 laws can be applied to ones daily life as well as business endeavors. And, surprisingly, I found this book to be just as inspirational as some of Donald Trumps books. Its great reading for adults of any age and from all walks of life. 5 stars.
