Amazon.com Product Description
Black diamonds make a unique and fashionable statement in these classic stud earrings, fashioned from 14 karat white gold. The round, faceted diamonds have a total weight of one full carat. They are held securely in four-prong basket settings and featured on posts with friction back closures. A simple and classy choice with a little black dress, or an attractive complement to this season's bold black and white prints, these versatile earrings will quickly earn their place at the top of your jewelry box.

1 out of 5 stars Take A Pass On These   December 6, 2007

I've purchased around 50 items at Amazon throughout the years and this is the first time an item fell short on quality and value. Even at the sale price of $130, it's not a value. At the regular price of $220, your money is better spent on any other gemstone. To begin with, the stones were not carefully matched for size. I noticed one was slightly smaller than the other. Then, I doubt that I received the 1ct size per earring. At best, they were 3/4ct each. I can't see anyone getting excited about this earring even if you receive the full ct weight. There's nothing eye-catching about this earring at all. No sparkle, no zing, nothing! I could never give these to anyone. I'm sorry I have to be so negative but I wouldn't want someone to buy these as a Christmas gift and be disappointed.

I bought my earrings not knowing what to expect, and after receiving them, I find I want to wear them all the time. I love them, and can't wait to find more pieces to go with it.

These earrings are beautiful! The color, clarity & size are perfect. I was extremely pleased with my purchase! I wish they came in yellow gold.

3 out of 5 stars Black diamond studs - the luck of the draw!   April 24, 2008

I first ordered the one cttw studs, thinking the size would be perfect. My white diamond studs are, perhaps 3/4 cttw and they are perfect. Is it possible that black diamonds are heavier than white? Are they so heavy that they are much smaller in size than white? I don't know. It's not my field of expertise. But,they were tiny!!
So, I ordered the next available size larger, 2 cttw. Is it possible for black diamonds to have a white spot or two? Mine did. Should we see rims of brown? I did. The cut didn't look right either.
Then there was the setting. They were set in such a way that they would push out of the average earlobe and kind of flop around! They might be nice on beefy earlobes, but they looked very silly on mine. I wouldn't take another chance on these. They went back, never to be seen again.
