This is very low quality. The chain was in a knot when it arrived. Worth about $10 at best.

Picture does more justice for the piece than it deserves however for it's size and the "special" price; it is a pretty little cameo. If I had paid full price for it I would have returned it. The box is a piece of junk.

This was the product I have ever bought off this web-site. I bought the Cameo as a gift for my mother. I got it earlier than expected and that was the only highlight of this purchase. When I opened the box it came in I unwrapped it to find the small box (shown in the picture) it came in which looks like it was painted at one of those paint your own pottery places. The box had a chip in it and the looked as if it was painted in the dark by a child. After looking at the awful box it had come in I had expected the charm and chain to be just as bad. Inside I was not shocked to see that there was chain with no "diamond" in it and the gold chain it self was tangled up underneath the padding. When I removed the chain from the foam padding the "diamond" then fell off on in to the box. This product is not worth the amount I spent on it and is not worthy of shelf space at a dollar store. Please don't waist you hard earned cash on this, I wish I didn't. I wonder if I can get a refund? I have no time to order another pendent and chain so I used a toothpick and some heavy duty glue put the "diamond" back on the pendent put it on a higher quality chain. It looks a bit bit bit better but it is still a waist of money. If you are going to buy a Cameo please just get one of the pendents and buy your own chain it will be well worth it if you want something that is nice.

I actually considered buying this at a higher price, and when it dropped here on amazon, I bought it right away. I thought it would be very nice especially for the holidays.
It is small, the height (not counting the bale) is the same as a dime. It isn't as wide as a dime, obviously because it isn't round (it is 1/2 inch wide). If you put a dime up to your neck, you get the idea of the size. I was looking for white gold because I thought it would look nicer with the blue, but actually the gold makes the white look very nice...white gold may have made the white look too gray.
It isn't a cameo carved out of a shell. I always read you should flip a cameo over to make sure it was a real shell. This is carved from something else..I don't know what. The colors fade from bright white on the thickest part to paler (like in the wings) so it at least isn't something punched out and glued to a blue background..it is beautifully carved! The back is covered with a smooth plastic-y looking layer (maybe so it wouldn't be scratchy on your neck or sweater), so I couldn't tell what was under there. The diamond is really small (hence the price) but isn't so small that you cant see it, mine really did shine when I opened it. Thank goodness it isn't one of those with the metal that looks like a diamond (and the chip stuck in the middle.)
The chain is not the greatest, a typical get-it-free-with-the-pendant kind that usually ends up in knots...so be careful (or switch chains.)
The box, while pretty in the photo, is crap. I think 4-year old kids in china painted it with Q-tips. I will give that to my little girl, she won't notice the poor paint job!
This isn't some eventual heirloom-type jewelry that you will want to insure or something, but it is very pretty and much nicer than some of the costume crap they sell on television (for similar prices.) I tried to be fair and specific in my review, but --bottom line-- I think you will like it! Not a typical pendant you see everyday. I gave the pendant 5 stars, I didn't count the box (consider the box a freebie!)

The cameo itself is quite pretty. The chain is cheap. I ordered this as a Christmas gift and before I could even get it wrapped the diamond chip fell out! I am very disappointed in the quality of this piece.
