Amazon.com Product Description Wear this gorgeous triple-strand pearl necklace whenever you want to make a sophisticated impression. The 18-inch necklace showcases three rows of natural white freshwater cultured pearls, graduated slightly in size by row, with diameters that range from 7 to 8 millimeters. The three strands are gathered in back at a round filigree clasp in 14 karat yellow gold. Freshwater pearls look remarkably similar to their pricier saltwater cousins, though they may be slightly less uniform in shape. Naturally beautiful, they offer excellent value for the cost.

It's actually 16" March 25, 2008 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
This necklace is not an 18" necklace at all... it is a 16" necklace with the LONGEST strand being 18". So if you need an 18" necklace... don't consider this one. It fits like a choker... and I am quite unhappy with it. It is fairly pretty... but stiff because of the way it's strung. The clasp works well. The pearls are fairly pretty but fair from perfect... and the least perfect ones are strung front and center. (idiots). Unfortunately this was to be my birthday present and now it will either need to be returned or give to SOMEONE ELSE! ~sweet~ All in all it was a waste of time and money... at least for me. This is the first purchase I've made of jewelry from Amazon... and the first purchase I've made from Amazon that I'm unhappy with. Happy Birthday to me!! Thanks guys!
7-8mm? March 24, 2008 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
UPDATE: I've worn the pearls four times in the five weeks I've owned them and they have received not one comment, which is a first for any of the pearls I wear. They still are not laying flat on the neck, therefore not having a uniform appearance in the spacing between strands. A reviewer commented on the weight being wonderful and well, yes, they do have weight. It's luster, size and length that are lacking. Each pearl is BARELY 7mm, most are actually under. The length would be best suited for an Audrey Hepburn type neck, lengthy. I would advertise this as a 16-18" triple strand, not an 18" strand, and I'd call the pearls size 6-7mm, not 7-8mm. Being that I spent less than three quarters of a Ben on these during the gold box offer, I kept the necklace, figuring that I'd use the pearls in making something else. Haven't done that because I do like the finishing that attaches the strands to the clasp and I'm not giving up on them laying flat with wear. I'd recommend this necklace only if it's a blow-out price again and you aren't looking for fine pearls. For average pearls, they are just that, average.
Gold clasp is lightweight, same on both sides and pretty, just like the image. Pearls are medium luster, barely. The strands are knotted with tight single knots, I can't make out the fiber. The pearls are far from true round which can be expected. When closed, the longest strand does measure 18". For the gold box price, these would have rated another star, probably two if the pearls actually did measure the advertised 7-8mm. In actuality, some are shy of 7mm, most are just at the 7mm mark, and not one comes anywhere near the 8mm. They are white with no other pastel hue undertone. It's also difficult to get the three strands to lie flat on the neckline. I keep telling myself the gold box price was a bargain, but not really for this average 7mm pearl necklace.
beautiful! March 25, 2008 I have made high quality jewelry for years and this is a beautiful set of pearls. The longest strand is 18" the shortest is 16". The pearls are closer to 6mm size. I am VERY happy with this purchase. The pearls themselves are beautiful! Its a great weight too! I would purchase it again in a heartbeat!
Good buy! March 28, 2008 My husband got these pearls as a gift for me. They came in a fairly flimsy box and cheap bag. That being said, the actual strands of pearls are beautiful and very heavy. The clasp is dainty, but I can tell it will hold; it has safety of sorts, so that it won't just fall off. My shortest strand is a little crooked (because of the packaging), but I think with time it will sort itself out. I do plan on buying a special case for the pearls from eBay or a jewelry box wholesaler, so that they will stay safe since the packaging is not very good. Knowing all of this, I think this was a great find and I love my pearls!
Too tight April 20, 2008 The necklace was a gift, but came with quick apology when seeing that the pearls were bunched too tightly together, retarding the straightness of each strand. I was very disappointed.
