Definitly worth the money January 11, 2007 6 out of 11 found this review helpful
I didnt buy this for myself, but my husband who is an avid gamer. I cannot go by personal experience, but I can tell you, he hasnt left his computer since I bought the mouse, so something must be great about it. Definitly a good buy for the gamer in your life.
Totally unreliable April 11, 2007 4 out of 18 found this review helpful
I am now on my second G5 gaming mouse. It is not the Battlefield 2142 model with the graphics but still the same mouse. The first one refused to work out of the box. I spent hours online researching the problem. I found another computer to test it on and also another mouse to verify my USB ports were working OK on my computer. I finally took it back and got an exchange. The second one worked for all of two weeks and then went dead. It lights up like the first one but will not move the pointer. I would not recommend this mouse to anyone unless they are willing to spend the time and hassle to buy then take it back for a full refund. I am sure it must work for some but two in a row is a record for me. It does feel and operate very well when it works although I did not get a chance to play with different configurations of weights. The weights seem more like a gimmick to me but I could be convinced with experience and feedback from other users.
still the best gaming mouse July 31, 2007 3 out of 3 found this review helpful
I have no comment about the battlefield 2142 edition design but this mouse itself is still the best gaming mouse for now. The review with the person who got it DOA it happens and thats bad luck. That review is credible, the one about the person who couldn't even get it to work with battlefield don't blame the mouse. It has 3 DPI settings which u can switch with buttons on the fly, weights, non slip grip, Teflon feet, durable cable that doesn't get stuck what more do you want. I am going to buy another one soon, I hope it does get beat (competition makes everything better/cheaper) so they come out with something even better but until then this is the best.
Why would they put the games name on the mouse when it's not compatable?!?! April 26, 2007 2 out of 25 found this review helpful
Lately my game of choice has been 2142 and I picked up the G5 after my mates who are ALL Quake players swear up and down about it.
Turns out the G5 gaming mouse is not compatable with 2142. How stupid are these guys to put a game logo on the mouse and it's not compatable with!
Best Mouse I have Ever Used July 31, 2007 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
I'm not exactly sure what the problem was with the other reviewers, but this is the best mouse I have ever used. I'd bet that J. Barnes has a USB or motherboard issue, not a mouse issue. Also, I've used this mouse when playing Battlefield 2142 with no problems, so I'm sure Russell Keller's problems are strictly user-error.
Back to the mouse:
1. The optical sensor on this mouse is fantastic. You can use it with high precision on nearly any surface, including ones that are glossy. Other optical mice I have used do not work on glossy surfaces.
2. The weight cartridge is an amazing feature because it allows you to fully customize the weight and feel of this mouse. Weight and "heft" are typically important factors for me when buying a mouse, as I prefer heavier mice because they seem to glide smoother.
3. The sides of the mouse are textured and are easy to grip.
4. The scroll wheel is quiet and smooth, and the in-game sensitivity buttons definitely come in handy.
5. The cord seems durable and high quality, and not easily frayed or broken.
6. The large PTFE "feet" really allow this mouse to glide smoothly across nearly any surface.
My only complaint about this mouse is that it has no left-side "forward" button, only a "back" button. I find the forward button to be convenient when using a web browser.
Overall, I fully recommend this mouse, especially at this price. I bought it for full price nearly 9 months ago, and it was probably the best investment into my computer I have made thus far.
