GREAT WATCH AND QUALITY March 15, 2008 5 out of 5 found this review helpful
Great looking watch at a very low price. The watch looks expensive when its not. Great quality as well very long lasting. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED.
Excellent Work/Casual watch April 21, 2008 5 out of 5 found this review helpful
This watch is an excellent every day watch for someone who wants an affordable watch that they can wear to work or to the park. With its chronograph styling, dark resin band, and classic sizing (I think it's ~38mm diameter and not too thick, though as I recently lost mine I can't be sure), it definitely will give the impression that you are wearing a much more expensive watch. When I used to wear it, I got compliments on it all the time and cost estimates in the hundreds =D.
However, don't be fooled by the "multifunction watch" title. The sub-dials show day/date/24-hour time, and that's it--no dual time, no stopwatch, it's not a digital watch replacement. The second markings aren't clear or accurate enough for you to really time anything. This was mostly fine for me but I found myself occasionally missing those functions. What I personally found most annoying, however, was the choice of mineral crystal as the watch window material, a poor compromise between acrylic and sapphire glass. Harder than acrylic, but way softer than sapphire, it still scratches fairly easily for a "beater" watch but you don't have the option of easily buffing it out.
CASIO EF305-1AV - my Favorite everyday watch May 18, 2008 3 out of 4 found this review helpful
This watch is fantastic!!! I bought a the identical watch with a yellow face, cause I loved it, at Walmart about three years ago. I had lost my brand new SEIKO Skin Diving Watch ($300.00 plus) in the Atlantic Ocean off of Sea Isle City, NJ, the weekend before. I paid about $35.00 for it. When I saw this one for a cheaper price in black and little dressier than the yellow faced one and NEW, I jumped at it.
Looks great, precise time, heavy, well made and functional!!!
I have expensive watches like an EBEL, Patek Philippe & TAG Heuer and I still wear these everyday.
Good price, nice watch May 14, 2008 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
I've had this watch for about a month and wear it daily to work. For the price point I feel it's well made. All hands function as they should. Time and day of the week are easy to read, but the smaller date hand can be hard to read at a glance. The band is comfortable to wear during long hours at work and it does not retain water as many link bands tend to do if you have to wash your hands frequently. The stainless steel case is attractive; a nice size for a man's watch--too soon to comment on durability but for around $30 you can't go wrong.
You get what you pay for. August 21, 2008 1 out of 2 found this review helpful
While it's a smart looking watch, the functionality is poor. The date dial is extremely difficult to read and can only be set by rotating hour hands 720 degrees to advance the date by a single day! The other two smaller dials are essentially useless. With no lighting, you must depend on the faintly luminous hour and minute hands in the dark.
A month after receiving the watch, I threw the box and directions away (necessary for a return) and the watch began to start and stop sporadically. I'd just throw it away, but I've got to figure out how to easily dispose of the mercury battery.
